Some Useful Tips for Chroma Green Screen

Chroma green screen is the process of developing two different images and then merging them together into a single visual image. In the medium of video production this is done by using a green screen or a blue screen to be used behind the subject. This is done so that the green or the blue color can be replaced with a different background image. In video production Autocue is also used as a teleprompter.

Let’s go through some useful tips to use the green screen technology-
  • You need to make sure when you use a green screen for your pictures then your subjects should not wear a green color. As if their clothes would also be green in color then it would be replaced along with the background color. But if the situation arises where your subjects must wear a green color then make sure that you use a blue screen and vice versa. You can also get hold of portable screens where there is green on one side and blue on the other. It is a nice investment and it also offers flexibility.
  • You need to keep your subject at least 4 or 5 feet away from the green screen. If the subjects are too close then the green color may reflect back to your subject’s skin or the clothing and would create an odd green glow.
  • Remove as many wrinkles in your green screen before the shooting. Keep the screen tight and you can use clamps or gaffer tape for this. Keep your screen folded when it is not in use so that it does not wrinkle.
  • If you use reflective clothing, glasses, and jewelry, then it may prove to be problematic. So test these products against your screen before you shoot them. If it is not important for your shoot then just leave them.
  • Take care of the indoor and outdoor lighting so as to enhance your subject. Keep the time of the day in mind while shooting outdoors.
